G&S Industries’ poles and columns are designed and manufactured in compliance with the following Australian Standards:
AS/NZS 4600 Supp 1:1998 | Cold formed steel structures – commentary (supplement to AS/NZS 4600:1996) The cross-sectional configurations, manufacturing processes and fabrication practices of cold-formed steel structural members differ in several respects from those of hot-rolled steel shapes. For cold-formed steel sections, the forming process is performed at, or near, room temperature by the use of bending brakes, press brakes or roll-forming machines. The standard is intended for the design of cold-formed steel structural members to be used for load-carrying purposes making allowances for dynamic effects. |
AS 1798:1992 | Lighting poles and bracket arms – preferred dimensions This Standard specifies preferred dimensions for poles which are designed to support luminaries and ancillary equipment for the lighting of roads and other outdoor public spaces. The dimensions specified also apply to joint-use lighting poles and sections of joint-use mast arms which are designed to support luminaries. |
AS 4100:1990 | Steel structures This Standard sets out minimum requirements for the design, fabrication, erection, and modification of steelwork in structures in accordance with the limit states design method. This Standard applies to buildings, structures and cranes constructed of steel. |
AS 4100 Supp 1:1999 | Steel structures – commentary (supplement to AS 4100 – 1998) The Standard sets out the minimum requirements for the limit states design, fabrication, erection, and modification of safe, serviceable and durable steel structures. |
AS/NZS 1170.2:2002 | Structural design actions – wind actions This Standard sets out procedures for determining wind speeds and resulting wind actions to be used in the structural design of structures subjected to wind actions other than those caused by tornadoes. |
AS 3678:1990 | Structural steel – hot-rolled plates, floor plates and slabs This Standard specifies requirements for the production and supply of hot-rolled structural steel plates and floor plates for carbon and carbon-manganese mechanically-tested steels, fully-killed analysis-only steels, and low-alloy (weathering) mechanically-tested steels. |
AS 1554.1:2004 | Structural steel welding – part 1: welding of steel structures This Standard specifies requirements for the welding of steel structures made up of combinations of steel plate, sheet or sections, including hollow sections and built-up sections, or castings and forgings. |
AS 4680:1999 | Hot-dip galvanized (zinc) coatings on fabricated ferrous articles This Standard specifies requirements and tests for hot-dip zinc coatings on fabricated ferrous articles including structural steel, steel reinforcements, steel sheet fabrications, assembled steel products, tubular fabrications, and fabricated wire work, steel forgings, steel stampings, ferrous castings, nails and other small components. |
AS 3600 – 2001 | Concrete structures This Standard sets out minimum requirements for the design and construction of concrete structures and members that contain reinforcing steel, or tendons, or both. It also sets out minimum requirements for plain concrete members. |
